To bridge the waiting period for Status Quou's new album, due out in spring 2011, the band, fronted by Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt, have unceremoniously re-recorded their biggest hit of all time: 'In The Army Now'. The band had two good reasons for doing so: firstly, the proceeds from this single will be donated to all the families who have lost someone during deployment in Afghanistan or Iraq, and secondly, the band wants to sweeten the wait for the new album for their fans! This mini-album accompanies an extensive tour and for the single "In The Army 2010", Status Quo have made a unique video together with British soldiers who have returned from tragic missions. As a thank you to the German fans for their dedicated support, the German version of "In The Army 2010" will be released as an album with nine unreleased tracks and two music videos in a lovingly designed digipack, rather than (as in the UK) as a single with just one track. Review: "You'll hear a sharp reworking of a Bolland/Bolland number that's still controversial in Quo fan circles, five relatively recent live tracks (with "Caroline" and "Down Dolvn"), and two songs that were previously only available as bonus tracks."
