Saxonselbstbetiteltes Debütalbum wurde ursprünglich am 21. Mai 1979 veröffentlicht und kann wohl als das erste NWOBHM-Album ("New Wave of British Heavy Metal") bezeichnet werden. Product information The self-titled debut album of Saxon was originally released on 21 May 1979 and is probably the first NWOBHM album to be transferred to tape. It took the new NWOBHM sound and combined it with early progressive and glam rock influences. It was a band in its infancy, but eventually put them on the map as one of the bands at the forefront of the heavy metal revival that swept the country in the late seventies. This release features their early demos when the band was still called Son Of A Bitch, a few early tracks from the BBC sessions and a few live songs from the inaugural Monsters of Rock festival. Both the CD and LP contain original lyrics, rare photos and memorabilia.
