The release of Ray Charles' 1959 album "What'd I Say" popularized Charles' first Top 10 hit "What I'd Say" and became his first gold record. The American singer, songwriter, pianist and composer wrote the song spontaneously during a live performance in 1958. Ray Charles was performing one night in December 1958, and with 15 minutes left in the show, their entire catalog was booked and he had to come up with a quick solution to save the show and get paid. That's when Charles started improvising and played the first sample of the now legendary "What'd I Say". The album What'd I Say also includes the tracks "Rockhouse", "Roll With My Baby" and "Tell All The World About You". A classic of the genre reissued + 2 bonus tracks. Limited audiophile edition.
