The album, the follow-up to the groundbreaking Operation: Mindcrime, was produced by Peter Collins and recorded in Washington, D.C. and Vancouver in the spring of 1990. Empire features brilliant and intelligent lyrics and songwriting, complemented by incredible musicianship. The songs range from beautiful ballads to powerful melodic rockers to classic heavy pumpers.
