On Metacritic, which assigns a standard rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 58, which translates to a "mixed or average rating". Queen In The 1980s debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, having sold over 44,000 copies in its first week.
