On his latest album, Road To The Sun, Pat Metheny once again surprises with his seemingly endless ability to gain new perspectives while retaining the instantly recognizable Metheny sound. In two essential new tracks performed by five of the world's leading guitarists, Pat Metheny reveals a new way of blurring the lines between genres while revealing new aspects of his already expansive personal language. Grammy winner Jason Vieaux, whom NPR calls "perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation," was invited by Metheny to perform his four-movement solo guitar suite Four Paths Of Light. The album's centerpiece is Road To The Sun, a six-song set performed by the Grammy Award-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ), which Pat Metheny says is "one of the best bands in the world."
