This title is synonymous with the privilege and responsibility of royalty, recognizing that even royalty is not immune to all suffering. "King's Sickness" thus explores the balance of life, providing a contemporary testament to black futurism, black joy and the legacy of the black community. While blackness is often associated with feelings of darkness, Nas reimagines the concept as one of richness, complexity and profound beauty that transcends race, social class or creed. He is supported by fellow rappers Big Sean, Don Toliver, ASAP Ferg and his old crew The Firm, which includes Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ and Cormega, among others.
