What happens when a band's rebel reputation catches up with it? They take action and are - of course - banned. This time, however, to outer space! When a greedy spaceship captain takes all the food rations, the crew switch to survival mode, rebel and eat their leader, beginning a terrifying but fantastic cannibalistic journey through space - the stuff cult movies are made of! The Fatal Feast, the fifth studio album from Richmond, Virginia's crossover kings MUNICIPAL WASTE, not only reflects on the moral dilemma described in the title track, but also deals with the earthly problems that continually weigh down humanity ("Covered In Sick / The Barfer", "Repossession", "Standards And Practices", "12 Step Program", "Crushing Chest Wound"). These 37 minutes of fresh music combine only the best of the band's work: their supreme homage to headbang-worthy riffs, their signature aggression, their tongue-in-cheek humor, and their knack for filtering meaning from absurdity. Showing up to their debut show after a New Year's Eve night in 2001 in a filthy house full of punks, founding members Ryan Waste and Tony Foresta quickly adopted a DIY approach to get their newly formed band as visible as possible, which soon led to booking shows across the country - even in Mexico. After the release of their self-titled EP and debut Waste 'Em All in 2003, Mischpoke was joined by bassist Phil "LandPhil" Hall and former Melt Banana drummer Dave Witte. The fact is, no one can deny MUNICIPAL WASTE their status as the ultimate feel-good party band. MUNICIPAL WASTE tried to keep the soul of the '80s crossover scene alive, and it was their irrepressible cheerfulness and concise songs that allowed them to reap the rewards of their hard work. Having signed to their new home label Nuclear Blast in 2011, they've already proven themselves to be die-hard road warriors, touring alongside bands outside their genre boundaries such as Suicidal Tendencies, The Casualties, 7 Seconds, Circle Jerks, Sick Of It All, GWAR, Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and At The Gates, and always winning over fans of the aforementioned combos.
