"We Want Miles" is a collection of live recordings from Boston, New York and Tokyo in 1981, the first live recordings after a long hiatus. In 1982, the album became a critical favorite and won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Performance. Davis is joined here by Marcus Miller on bass, Al Foster on drums, Mike Stern on guitar, Mino Cinelu on drums and Bill Evans on saxophone. Review ,,In particular, the Miller/Foster combination of pumping funk rhythm machine contrasts sharply with Davis' restrained playing style on these recordings.
