"A lot happened on and off the stage on this 1960 tour, including powerful, emotionally charged performances where you can hear the band's swinging, disjointed energy and the unfiltered reactions of the European audience. Audience reactions are an integral part of these historic performances," writes Grammy® Award-winning music historian Ashley Kahn in her detailed and insightful notes written specifically for this collection. "Generally, this music is said to represent a great jazz ensemble trying to stick together.....
