HIStory - Past, Present And Future - Book I is an album by Michael Jackson , released on June 20, 1995. It is a double album and the first of two albums released as part of the HIStory album series. The album was released almost two years after Jackson's previous studio album Dangerous. HIStory contains fifteen new songs and a bonus disc of remixes of Jackson's hits. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number one in over thirty countries and selling over thirty million copies worldwide. In the United States, it became the best-selling album of 1995. The first single from the album, "Scream", was released in May 1995 and reached number one in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. The song was written by Jackson and his sister Janet Jackson and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. A second single, "You Are Not Alone", was released in September 1995 and reached number one in the United States. The song was written by R. Kelly and produced by Kelly and Jackson. The third single from the album, "Earth Song", was released in November 1995 and reached number one in the United Kingdom. The song was
