It is the beginning of a new era. Since the first days of October, smoke has once again been billowing over Northampton, near London. The machine is well oiled, the schedule is excellent - MEMORIAM have recorded their fourth studio album! The pace at which the Brits have been working since their beginnings is immense and amazing. It wasn't until 2016 that the band became public knowledge of their existence. Since then, however, the machines have never stood still. The groove is once again monstrous, the riffs mercilessly murderous and the atmosphere oppressive, paralyzing, even overwhelming. Willett's aggressive vocals are the proverbial icing on the cake. "To The End" is a powerful demonstration of strength, impressively combining all the elements of its predecessors to paint a harrowing picture of war, death and destruction, at the end of which only ashes remain and the realisation of a masterpiece. The magnificent songwriting and top-notch recording is complemented by Russ Russell's (NAPALM DEATH, DIMMU BORGIR, AT THE GATES, AMORPHIS, etc.) production at Parlour Studios, which is charmingly "down-to-earth" yet brilliantly nuanced to give every detail on "To The End" its well-deserved space.
