Melanie Martinez has always distinguished herself from other musicians with her creative passion and talent. Her irresistible music and visual art have earned her an almost fanatical global following, 8.4 million followers on Instagram, 11.4 million subscribers on YouTube and 6.3 billion global streams. After releasing her debut album Cry Baby, which went platinum in the US in 2015, she came up with a music video for every song on the album and directed all the videos herself. Today, every song has gold or higher status in the US, including 2x platinum records for "Dollhouse" and platinum records for "Pity Party", "Carousel", "Mad Hatter" and "Soap". Melanie's second album and the film K-12 were another ambitious triumph, reaching #3 on the US album chart, among others. The music on K-12 is a diverse and unique blend of understated hip-hop, soul pop and indie electronica. For the album, Melanie wrote a 90-minute film, which she again directed and co-designed all the costumes. "On the day of its release, K-12 was the sixth highest-grossing film in U.S. theaters. The year 2020 began for Melania with the renaissance success of Cry Baby, which re-entered the Billboard 200 chart more than five years after the song "Play Date" went viral on TikTok.
