Lana Del Rey, who has already gained cult status with her album "Honeymoon", returns in 2015 with a new album. In fact, the singer was planning to re-release her successful 2014 album "Ultraviolence" with several new songs. However, since these songs were more towards her 2012 album Born To Die and didn't really fit the musical concept of her third album, the singer decided to make a completely new album. "Honeymoon" offers a total of 14 new songs. And once again they show the wide spectrum of New York music, which moves between 60s pop, soul and jazz, between somber melancholy and dreamy longing. First previewed with the title track released on July 14, 2015, "Honeymoon" is a poignant, melancholic ballad with Del Rey's distinctive voice clearly at the forefront. The single "High By The Beach" followed a month later, on August 10. The album's third precursor was "Terrence Loves You" on August 20. In addition to the 13 original songs, "Honeymoon" also contains one cover version. "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" is a song by jazz and blues singer Nina Simone. Lana Del Rey produced her new album herself. She was supported by producers Rick Nowels and Kieron Menzies. Nowels had already helped the singer during the recording of her last two albums. Lana Del Rey is a cult. The singer combines modern pop music with a nostalgic 60s sound like no other. Her new album "Honeymoon" is proof of that. Review. (Rolling Stone, November 2015)
