Texas world traveling trio Khruangbin releases "Hasta El Cielo", a spectacular dub version of their second album "Con Todo El Mundo" (2018). Khruangbin's exotic psychedelic space funk gets the dub treatment. While the individual dub versions of their debut album "The Universe Smiles Upon You" (2015) were available on limited 12" vinyl, the follow-up gets a straight-up full-length. For the Khruangbin musicians, dub has a meditative quality that lifts the listener into new realms. Combined with their exotic sound, which has recently incorporated funk and soul inspirations from Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, particularly Iran, a groundbreaking mix has been created. Two bonus dubs by legendary Jamaican producer Scientist, whose unique mixing style has always been a big influence on the Texas trio, are a great tribute to the band and are added as bonus tracks on the CD and as additional 7" tracks on the LP.
