Kaleo is a real phenomenon in Iceland. The four-piece band with its captivating blend of folk, blues and country will enter our borders this year. Thanks to performances such as at the Iceland Airwaves music festival, Kaleo have quickly made a name for themselves. The band's name, which means "sound" in Hawaiian, does the band credit. From the very first notes, the soulful and melancholic voice of lead singer JJ Julio Son creeps into the ears of listeners - and that's exactly where the songs will stay for the next few weeks. After five number one singles in Iceland, club and festival appearances all over Europe, and a subsequent signing with Atlantic Records, Kaleo has managed to break out overseas. Without further ado, the foursome of musicians traded cold Iceland for their new home in Austin, Texas and have been causing a sensation in the US ever since. The HBO series The Leftovers chose "Way Down We Go" as the title track and it didn't take long for it to be included on the coveted FIFA 16 soundtrack compilation. With several million YouTube clicks on "Way Down We Go" and their new album "A/B", Kaleo are now trying to convince the German music scene of their worth.

Following the release of the single "Way Down We Go", newcomers Kaleo have announced the release of their debut album "A/B". Kaleo is a true phenomenon in Iceland. The four-piece band will be entering our rural borders this year with their captivating blend of folk, blues and country. Band members JJ Julius Son (vocals), David Antonsson Crivello (drums) and Danny Jones (bass) started playing together at the age of 17. After a short time they left their hometown of Mosfellsbaer, a small suburb of Reykjavik, to play a series of gigs in Iceland. In 2012, guitarist Rubin Pollock joined the band. With performances such as at the Iceland Airwaves music festival, Kaleo quickly made a name for themselves. The band's name, which translates from Hawaiian as "sound", does the band credit.
