Redeemer of Souls is the seventeenth studio album by British heavy metal band Judas Priest , released on 8 July 2014. It is the first album with Richie Faulkner, who replaced K. K. Downing. The album is described as a return to the band's classic heavy metal sound. The album was recorded in a studio in Wales and produced by Tom Allom, who produced the band's first four albums, and Andy Sneap. Rob Halford described the album as a "natural progression" from the band's last album, 2010's Nostradamus. The first single from the album, the track "Dragonaut", was released on 20 May 2014. The second single, "Redeemer of Souls", was released on 17 June 2014. The album was met with mixed reviews from critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a standard rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received a score of 58, which means "mixed or average rating". Eduardo Rivadavia of AllMusic gave the album 3.5 stars out of five and wrote that "Redeemer of Souls is a welcome return to form for Judas Priest
