2010 - The Year of John Lennon There are actually two significant dates associated with this legendary musician: his 70th birthday on 9 October and the 30th anniversary of his dramatic murder in New York on 8 December. To mark the occasion, the biggest JOHN LENNON reissue event in 30 years will take place on 1 October under the universal theme "Gimme Some Truth". All 8 of JOHN LENNON's solo albums will be released in digitally remastered form in 2010 (remastering overseen by Yoko Ono herself at Abbey Road) and in deluxe digipacks (similar to the Beatles remasters). It should be mentioned here that "Sometime In New York", including 6 Jam Sessions tracks, was restored from vinyl - "Double Fantasy Stripped Down". As a result, "Double Fantasy Stripped Down" shows a completely new and charming side (CD1 Original Double Fantasy Album remastered 2010/ CD2 Double Fantasy Stripped Down Version). The 2CD version of "Double Fantasy" is not included in the JOHN LENNON Signature Box and is only available separately: The Hits": the ultimate greatest hits package in remastered form. Released in a standard edition on one CD and in a deluxe version with a bonus DVD containing all the music videos. The CDs are thematically arranged: CD1 "Working Class Hero" shows John's committed side and collects his political songs, CD2 "Borrowed Time" contains songs with John's life wisdom, CD3 "Woman" are love songs and CD4 "Roots" shows the rock side of John Lennon's work. The elegant and simple white cube (dimensions: 18 cm x 18 cm x 18 cm) contains all 8 remastered studio albums in a deluxe digipack, 2 excellent bonus discs: all non-album singles collected on one CD (with songs like "Give Peace A Chance", "XMas War Is Over", "Instant Karma") and a bonus disc with rare studio outtakes and home recordings (mostly unreleased material!). The box is rounded out by an art print and a hardcover book with new and partly very personal essays by Yoko Ono and her two sons Julian and Sean John.
