Back to the Baroque: Philippe Jaroussky sings Bach and Telemann After taking a musical trip to the Belle Époque a year ago with the album "Green", Philippe Jaroussky returns to the Baroque on his new album "Sacred Cantatas". More precisely, the countertenor now devotes himself for the first time to the sacred works of Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically the temple cantatas BWV 82 "Ich habe genug" and BWV 170 "Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust". This programme will be complemented by Jaroussky's interpretation of Georg Philipp Telemann's cantatas TWV 1: 364 "Der am Ölberg zagende Jesus" and TWV 1: 983 "Jesus liegt in letzten Zügen". In addition, Philippe Jaroussky celebrates another premiere with his new album: for the first time in his career, the French singer with the voice of an angel sings in German. The opera singer is accompanied by the renowned Freiburg Baroque Orchestra. In addition to the standard CD, the "Sacred Cantatas" are also available in a deluxe edition. In addition to the new album on CD, it also includes a bonus DVD.
