Celebrating its 15th anniversary, international pop-opera quartet Il Divo is releasing its seventh album, Timeless, on August 10. The album's lead single Hola, a Spanish remake of Adele's Hello, has already racked up 400,000 views on YouTube. The album is made up of classic mixes of pop favourites and traditional standards, recorded in four different languages. Some of the well-known tracks include covers of All of Me, Angels, Love Me Tender and What A Wonderful World. "We have chosen songs that have a timeless quality. Many of them were part of classic films," says Carlos Marín, introducing the album. "Timeless is a tribute to the immortality of music," adds David Miller.The band, which has broken records in album sales and concert attendance, has sold over 30 million records in its career, its albums have gone gold and platinum in 33 countries and Il Divo was the first classical crossover band to debut at number one on Billboard's Top 200 chart. In 2006, the Guinness Book of World Records even named Il Divo as the most successful band of its genre in the history of music.The unique Il Divo was founded in 2003 by British producer and talent scout Simon Cowel. Il Divo consists of Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, Swiss tenor Urs Bühler, American tenor David Miller and French pop singer Sébastien Izambard. The quartet presents a unique concept combining classical and pop music.Il Divo returns to Prague for the fourth time on 12 September and will perform at the Congress Centre as part of the tour for the new album.
