Singer-songwriter Halsey releases her long-awaited album "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power". The artist made the announcement at the album cover unveiling at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The cover features her as a proud mother and she describes the album as "a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth". With this album, she wants to celebrate pregnant and postpartum bodies and fight the social stigmas that apply to them. The album was written by Halsey herself and produced in collaboration with film and television composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have become internationally famous for their collaborative project "Nine Inch Nails" and several Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe awards. "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" is Halsey's fourth studio album to chart in the Top 10 of the US album charts to date. Most recently, the singer impressed with "Manic," which went double platinum in the U.S., but also picked up several international awards. Globally, the star is one of the most successful female artists with more than 30 billion streams and was named "Best Female Artist" on Spotify in 2020. The international pop icon is expanding her influence beyond music. Her first book, "I'd Leave If I Could: A Collection of Poetry" appeared on the New York Times bestseller list last November. Halsey also recently introduced "about-face," a line of multidimensional makeup designed for everyone. As a result, the artist continues to use her voice to advocate for causes she passionately believes in, such as youth rights, women's rights, mental health, and the LGBTQ community.
