Product information "The Way It Is" is a studio album by former Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Trapeze singer Glenn Hughes, originally released in 1999. While Hughes' previous album "Addiction" from 1996 had a serious, rather dramatic and heavy sound with songs that focused on the turmoil in his life, its follow-up "The Way It Is" has a much lighter tone. The metallic edge of Addiction has been replaced with a funk-filled edge. But unlike 1995's Feel, which had a definite funk, pop and soul sound, The Way It Is retains the hard rock for which Hughes is best known.
