The Final Countdown is the third album by Swedish hard rock outfit EUROPE and is definitely a milestone in modern music history... Released in 1986, the album was a huge commercial success, selling over 3 million units in the United States alone, reaching number 8 on the US Billboard 200 chart and scoring high on charts around the world. It was recorded at Powerplay Studios in Zurich, Switzerland, and the band collaborated with American producer Kevin Elson (Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd). Five singles were released from the album: "Love Chaser", "Rock the Night", "Carrie" and "Cherokee" and of course the mother of all hard rock anthems "The Final Countdown".

Třetí studiové album švédské hardrockové skupiny Europe se v roce 1986 stalo hitparádovým trhákem, především díky stejnojmennému superhitu. Titulní skladba alba, která vyšla již v únoru, se dostala na první místo hitparád ve 26 zemích a proslavila kapelu po celém světě. Rock Candy nyní vydává láskyplně zrestaurovanou verzi na CD. Remaster obsahuje šest bonusových skladeb (!) a šestnáctistránkový booklet včetně eseje o 4 000 slovech a mnoha archivních fotografií - to vše za účasti kapely.
