The Violet Flame is the seventeenth studio album by British synthpop duo Erasure , released on 17 September 2014 and produced by Richard X. The album was announced in May 2014 and its lead single "Elevation" was released on 15 July. The album The Violet Flame received mixed reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 58, which means "mixed or average rating".
