Solo comeback After ending their seven-year hiatus from releasing albums with "Gigaton" in 2020, Pearl Jam will also release a solo comeback album in 2022, the first LP album by the American singer, songwriter and guitarist in eleven years. "Earthling" is the title of his third self-titled album, the follow-up to 2011's "Ukulele Songs" and is being released on Eddie's own Seattle-based surf label Republic. "Earthling" was announced in September with the single "Long Way". "The Haves", a ballad with piano and acoustic guitar, was the second listen from the November album. "Earthling" was produced by Andrew Watt, a lifelong PJ fan who is now also a member of Vedder's new solo band, Earthlings, which made its live debut in late September. The band also includes PJ Tour member Josh Klinghoffer, multi-instrumentalist Glen Hansard, bassist Pino Palladino and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. The album was recorded at Watt's studio in Beverly Hills.
