For fans, lovers and collectors: 'Ultra | The 12" Singles' Sony Music Entertainment releases 'Ultra | The 12" Singles', a new deluxe box set from the successful collector's edition. The set includes eight vinyl maxi singles featuring "Barrel of a Gun", "It's No Good", "Home" and "Useless". In addition, there are interesting B-sides, mixes and live recordings from the time of "Ultra", the band's ninth studio album (released April 14, 1997). The three* maxi-single box set contains tracks that were released as CD singles in 1997. The packaging of these discs, which now - with a newly compiled track list - appear for the first time on 12" vinyl, matches the original CDs in their packaging. "Ultra" was the first DM album since 1982's "A Broken Frame" to be recorded as a trio (Martin Gore, David Gahan, Andrew Fletcher). With this record, which features the classic tracks "Barrel of a Gun", "It's No Good", "Home" and "Useless", Depeche Mode continued their successful tradition of releasing spectacular maxi-singles for their albums. Early in their existence, Depeche Mode discovered the 12" format for themselves and took full advantage of its innovative possibilities. Maxi-singles were made for exploring new sounds and the packaging offered great scope for exciting visual experimentation. DM fans loved these releases because they featured unconventional remixes, rare b-sides or thrilling live performances. The first sets of the edition - Speak & "Spell | The Singles" and "A Broken Frame | The Singles" - were released in August 2018, followed by "Construction Time Again | The 12" Singles" and "Some Great Reward | The 12" Singles" in December of that year. The series continued in May 2019 with "Black Celebration | The 12" Singles" and "Music For The Masses | The 12" Singles". "Violator | The 12" Singles" was released in July 2020 and the latest edition "Songs of Faith and Devotion | The 12" Singles" was released in October 2020. Each boxset in the series is dedicated to singles from a particular Depeche Mode album. The tracks on the audiophile vinyl maxis were remastered from the original tapes. The design of the boxes is based on the original albums, and the covers of the collected albums match their originals. The series of Depeche Mode 12" singles will continue for years to come and is expected to be released in similarly configured audiophile versions.
