"Listen": David Guetta dares to push his boundaries For David Guetta, his album "Listen" is a real adventure. "Listen" is an adventure for him, a journey that has achieved almost everything as a DJ. He's filled huge stadiums all over the world. His fans flock there to see him, hear him and celebrate with him. Moreover, he has been instrumental in making the DJ "profession" what it is in recent decades: DJs are artists who can have a name, be a brand, and make money with their art. David Guetta wants his fans to listen closely to the song "Listen". That's no problem, because the track list on the new CD is graced by one star after another: Emeli Sandé, Ryan Tedder, Nicki Minaj, Sia, Sam Martin, Magic!, DJ Afrojack, Birdy and many more. The lyrics and melodies carry much more weight for David Guetta on this album than on any of the previous ones. He has something to say and this time he draws on the melodies of his singing voice and the melodic instruments (which are still electronically generated). In the past, rhythm has been the creative starting point of every one of his compositions. David Guetta considers the song "Dangerous" from the album "Listen" as a turning point in his work. He still wants people to dance and celebrate. However, he'll be happy to do that from now on with songs that have more substance. He reworked the songs on "Listen" over and over again until his label lovingly forced him to finally release the album. David Guetta consciously wanted to reinvent himself and not just play it safe. For the all-round renewal on "Listen", David Guetta has thankfully taken a subtle approach: he's a little more thoughtful and serious, but still remains the infectious Guetta.
