Bruce Springsteen The album "The River", released in 1980, was a critical and market success. The album, produced by Springsteen and Jon Landau, was recorded at The Power Station in New York and The Record Plant in Los Angeles. "The River" was Springsteen's fifth studio album and was the first album he released on his own Bruce Springsteen Records label. The album's title track, "The River", was released as a single and reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album, "Hungry Heart" and "Fade Away", reached #5 and #37 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100. The album "The River" was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and five times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.
