Anastacia grew up in a musical family and initially pursued a career as a dancer, which led her to various music videos and MTV shows. Her debut album "Not That Kind" first created a buzz in Europe, Asia and Australia before hitting the US like a bomb. Her distinctive look and above all her unmistakable voice and hits like "I'm Outta Love" and "Cowboys & Kisses" secured her top spots on the charts and her songs were great not only at home with her fans but also on the dance floor. This was due not only to her distinctive alto voice and her own pop/rock/soul identity, but also to her collaborations with some of the best songwriters in the world. Thanks to the musical influences of artists such as Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, Anastacia has always appealed to a more mature audience, unlike competitors such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, and in 2001 she became the "best-selling new pop artist" at the World Music Awards.
